I'm really a huge fan of the way you've conceptualized the web as 'geography' and social media as replacing 'places' with 'timelines' where users no longer travel to 'places' but sit and refresh the same websites. It's excellent. Thank you!

thinkpads and macbooks? excellent taste in laptops. the early retina MPBs are fun these days, i have one with a 2nd gen i5 that needs 60% CPU to play a 1080p video :D

@greenbox - I'm not sure about the others, but if you've got a 15" macbook pro retina from 2013, you might be excited that you can upgrade it with a logic board from the mid-2014 macbook pro! Around January I upgraded my MBP from a 2ghz cpu + 8gb of ram to 2.8ghz and 16gb of ram!

It's funny, I'm really just interested in MacBooks and ThinkPads from 2007-2013. It's like this sweet spot where they're easy to repair, moddable, dirt cheap, still totally usable for all web-related tasks, and they look really cool. The design language from the era seems to compliment surfing and building on the personal web really well!
