hi guys... sad update. i think i popped my jaw? and i dont even know how, i just woke up with this incredible bad pain that started from the side of my face, close to my ear (and i know its not tooth ache pain) its like the pain from having ur jaw open very open for a long period of time, and it wont let me eat. i cant bite down D: and idk what to do. i dont have money to check a doctor, it doesnt hurt if i talk
which is a good thing, but this pain is like something ive never heard, its like it pops i guess? it doesnt make a sound but it def hurts and i have to be careful how to swallow... idk what to do... i did cold compress and that helps the pain enough that i can bite down but still.
I've heard that if you put a warm washcloth or towel on the side of your face that hurts it can loosen up the muscles enough to "pop" back into place. If you're able to try that, I hope it helps! (FWIW I'm not a doctor and this is not medical advice)
tyty i appreciate the advice! ill see what i can do... this whole things had my family puzzled, they thing its an infection but it doesnt hurt like that or that it might be dental decay but they dont get that it doesnt hurt because my teeth touch, its the movement that does
@ Salinepunch I've had my jaw pop out of place before and it sounds a lot like what you're describing. I think if it was an infection you'd have different symptoms, though like I said I AM NOT A DOCTOR lol so take that with a grain of salt.
i fr think it might by my jaw popping too, mom said we would go to the hospital if tomorrow i still felt the same or if the pain was worse, i thankfully dont feel anything if i close my mouth, so i will update with anything
ty guys for worrying! i will make sure to go to the hospital tomorrow if it keeps hurting, for now i can kinda bite more? which i would say its a win. i did take an antiinflamatory for it! maybe thats why its kinda better? it all comes down to how i wake up tomorrow honestly. mom blames my retainers because im always supposed to sleep with them and i do! she thinks the retainer maybe was in a weird position
hey!! hope the doctors are able to help tomorrow and the pain goes away! of course, don't know your exact specifics but I would maybe look into TMJ or lockjaw and see if it fits your symptoms!

also sorry for so many typos, im only using one hand so i can get some ice compress on there for now, it really helps with the pain
noooo i have no idea what it could be, but i hope that whatever it is, you get well soon >︿<
that sounds awful, i hope you get better soon. Maybe an antiinflamatory could help with the pain??
