I played around for a good hour, and had so much fun!! already bluescreened Win 99 3 times and crashed windows explorer 2 ๐ญ I have absolutely no idea how you managed to make a whole OS like this, but my jaw is literally on the floor :O
Thank you! It's been a massive labor of love for the past 16 months. There will be a big update soon-ish as well to look forward to. If you can, report any glaring bugs you might run into.
It's showing! And I will :D Is it like a real OS that you somehow made available in a browser? I mean it's probably a super dumb question but I never seen something like this before!
It was supposed to be Notepad, Internet Explorer (with pages I repaired from 1999 in archive.org) and MS-DOS. Then it grew to Display Properties, Date/Time Settings, and so on and so forth. Some of the starting code was built off github repos, and some were jettisoned as we learned the design systems were off. Lots of VM referencing. There is some documentation in https://win99.dev/devblog/ but it needs updating.
