I love your website vibes, and your story about creating fashion for the sims was adorable xD found you through someone sharing your doggy game which is sooo cute, it's also inspiring knowing it was made in Godot. I love it here, keep it up!

Duolingo was already awful after the AI overtake but they finally put the last nail in the coffin with that stupid energy system, I can't even do 2 whole lessons with that!! I know it was never the best tool for learning but it was good for not losing contact with the language. What a shame

I left Duolingo during the AI thing, but I'm actually kinda glad that someone's talking about it even still, since I know so many people who didn't want to / couldn't quit. Duolingo has been becoming worse and worse over time, unfortunately, removing a lot of good features

And I heavily agree on what you say about its usage as a tool. It sucks majorly for learning a brand new language, but if you use it as an additional practice tool, it can be very very great! I'll admit, I do wish there were some kind of free, open-source, collaboratively managed language learning materials... Like sure, you can Google stuff about every single language, but you very much have to "build" the course

all by yourself, and that's as challenging as learning the language in the first place. Duolingo as meh as it is, offers you an OK path and you follow it! (Unless you've used some of their shitty AI generated courses for rarer language duos: only standard ENGLISH to COMMON LANGUAGE LIKE GERMAN tend to be of decent quality 😢)

Yeah the AI thing is terrible, language is for connecting with people, why remove that aspect and throw everything to AI? It's awful and it shows how greedy they are, it's a shame
