Good to know. Are web rings still useful? It seems to me that very large ones might lose some of their value, though I could be wrong.

I think it depends on the size and how they're run. like you said, large ones seem to lose their purpose, but like ones for specific content such as zines or writing can be useful to connect people looking for similar stuff. that's the thought i put into my theater webring, at least

im only in webrings for fun at this point. its nice to explore some sites that way but i dont feel i get any sort of "reach" so to speak. just doing it for the hell of it mostly. @uncannydream

@playneonneuro I went with Cloudflare! Though i know some use namecheap too. its about 10 bucks a year for my domain

neocities lets you set up your custom domain in a way that has your current url (the yorniq.xyz one) redirect to your custom domain! the only thing that will break links to you will be if ppl link to your custom domain and you revert back to your original one
