Honestly miss the Sony era of portable music players, I have a bootleg Discman from China that’s been through absolute hell but is still in excellent condition somehow. My dad and I used to argue over what the proper pluralization is for the Sony -man products; is it WalkMANS or WalkMEN? (Apparently it’s Walkmans, I Googled it recently out of curiosity.)

OMG YES they were indestructible!!! and battery powerable so no need to worry about running out of charge!! honestly ive been using my old ipod nano WAYYY more recently, it really makes me appreciate devices having *A USE* and everything not having to do or be everything!! also no way i totally would have guessed it was walkmen! thats wild!! xD but such a silly and fun fact!

@ Boredomarchive I’m pretty skeptical of digital media so I really value my CD player and physical collection of CDs. I tend to listen to music on my phone and computer more often, but there’s that worry in the back of my mind that one day my iTunes collection will disappear because Apple has lost the rights to own it and therefore cannot license it to me anymore. That will never happen with CDs!

that fear is so valid, and there's something so nice about having the physical cd!! mine just live in our car since I dont have a portable cd player anymore! :P but i am a little too indecisive to fully give up on my digital downloads! when i was in highschool i was burning a new cd every day (our car didnt have aux or BT) with just like 1 song difference each time :'D

I did have a walkman at one point shortly before mp3 players came out. Theres definitely something romantic about walkmans but i felt they were just a bit too large to be convenient for going outside. In that regard I really love Minidisc and wish the format would have caught on here in the west. I want to buy a second hand minidisc player but they are quite expensive.

I remember hearing on the radio recently that Evanescence was due to release new material, super cool that the album's out now! I have not listened to them in .... a really long time but I'll probably give this new one a listen soon.

YESSSS they are back in a big way with this album!!! >:D
