I also struggle with my energy levels. I try to have the mindset that my partner's mom has where rest itself is productive especially when it's healing and recovering. Productivity itself is a scam. Humans aren't meant to hustle even at home.

Are you taking a staycation this week too??? I feel a lot of that—too much to do, much of it self-imposed. Going at my own pace this week.

A very relatable read! I constantly worry about time, to the point where i feel bad if I spend time watching TV or playing games because that is time I could have spent on projects

I too find myself opting out of many enriching activities if it isn't also a friend hangout OR also leading to some tangible result or thing "of value" that I can share around online. I cannot remember the last time I played a single-player video game alone, comfortable with using time like that

I tell my wife I need ISS this weekend. Pretend we're on the International Space Station, nothing gets in or out except for possibly a fast food delivery orbital capsule.

@garfriend I try to tell myself that, but it doesn’t always get through. I used to try to “hustle” all the time. I think it permanently altered my brain, lol.

@skep I am! I’m trying not to have a to-do list, though that never usually works.

@tabf5 Yep, whenever I do things just for me, I feel guilty for needing to do that. Working on just being OK with the fact that I need a lot of alone time.

I also found this post very relatable. I always feel a bit like that guy from the Twilight Zone episode who just wants time enough to read (and also to do all my other hobbies), but hopefully without that episode's ending. I hope you enjoy your staycation. Maybe squeeze in some walks through the cemetary.

I hope you enjoy this time off! I am a firm believer in the power of a staycation to reset. Especially what I call a "buffet" style one. Like before I start I set out possible things I might enjoy so I don't even have to THINK when the glorious PTO arrives ^_^
