For some reason i can't reply to you reply on my last post, idk if that's intended, but do you happen to remember the tutorial? All my stuff is mostly low poly but I'd love to give realism a try! Thank you so much for replying and letting me know your workflow!

Hey, no I don't have it anymore, sorry. It would not be useful because it's for an old version of Blender that I use (it would be broken in newer Blender versions) and also because I kept tweaking it for every object / lighting setting etc, so there's no 'one material fits all', especially when it comes to translucency :) I'd say just follow any tutorial where you like the result and tweak it to your liking :)

how tf do you only have 222 followers this one one of the coolest sites ive seen here. An insane amount of content too wow. Im a 3d modeler and how did you make the tomogatchi things in blender??? It looks literally real

hey, thank you so much, glad you like it :) I guess I am not good at self promotion, haha. tamagotchi is done with non-destructive modeling which means using boolean modifiers instead of moving vertex around. I start with a simple shape (like the 3D egg) and all the elements are created as boolean operations of that and other invisible elements. also using solidify to give the plastic thickness.

but it gets quite complex, I'm refining this workflow for years. As for the plastic material, it's just done after a YT tutorial, nothing special there! using Cycles render btw.

one more thing that matters is, well, having the IRL objects around, modeling using good quality reference images of them.
