i like making up stories with my characters before they're fully developed because their personalities come naturally instead of having to force myself to think of something for a bio

real, i feel like this is like, a more natural way to develop characters! its hard to make a whole personality devoid of a story (eg the character's experiences)

no im the same way, especially when it comes to ttrpg characters. i have like a baseline to start with, super bare bones like "this ones silly" or "this one bullies his friends" and everything else gets built as i have them bounce off other pcs

adding a noscript tag and reassuring people that they can keep JS turned off. kinda a pet peeve of mine when sites are like "PLEASE ENABLE JAVASCRIPT I WON'T STEAL UR INFO" and i don't wanna be that person

hi i'm revamping artwork. originally i wanted to make it so you click on a drawing and it takes you to its dedicated link but honestly i hate the idea of having a separate page for each shitty picture so i'm thinking of making it all in one page and have each image appear via CSS magic and anchor links, just wondering if this is a good idea

@vanillamilkshake i'll go along with it then, i gotta figure out how to not make it look ugly. one thing i'm worried about is accessibility if it would ruin the page in some way

switched from firefox to librewolf which has resist fingerprinting enabled so light mode websites are gonna make my eyes bleed, but that's the price you gotta pay for privacy these days

firefox is pretty good with how you can edit everything through about:config, that's what i did on macOS before switching and starting over

i should rebrand as the penis genius

i hate how blurry the flowering logo was so i fixed it with the power of Scalable Vector Graphics. thank you inkscape https://sclptures.yorniq.xyz/gallery/flowering/ (this makes my main site logo look amateurish)

i know chrome text would be more fitting for a science fiction type story. sci-fi as a concept is wonderful to me but i never engaged with any of it since i barely engage with media in general unless it's music or visual art, and i always wanted to make a sci-fi world but i know it would turn out shitty because i'm "uncultured". it's a self-indulgent thing all around because this text is fun to make and look at

sclptures's avatar sclptures 2 weeks ago

the texture makes sense because it's set in a big city so it has brutal/industrial themes but no clue where i was going with the font, i don't know what emotion it evokes. i just love how compact it looks

im thinking of deleting the "my history with art" section because who actually gives a fuck

these kinds of updates i make could be summed up with "just make it into a blog post", because you really can't document someone's entire artistic journey in like 3 paragraphs

i figured out why my 11ty global data wasn't working, turns out you put _data in the input folder and not the root. big news for my art page

you probably don't have to do that but i'm too stupid to figure out any other way

tofutush's avatar tofutush 2 weeks ago

you can specify a directory in the config file! in the return object, you can specify not only input but also layout, includes, and data (i suppose you already specified input folder?). i separate my layout and includes folder this way

@tofutush i assumed it was something like that too, it would probably be helpful to organise things that way and save me a headache from future file management
