not sure how familiar NeoCities is with are.na but people constantly bookmark our sites there as inspiration.

please don't be too hard on yourself. you handled it as best you could. and people should stop acting morally superior and judging others' choices when they don't know what options those people had.

I think we need thoughtful people giving input on the use of AI. I'm no fan of AI either, but it's ridiculous to expect people to give up their livelihood to stage a protest that will fall on deaf ears. I know it will make people angsty, but the black-and-white takes on AI are quite juvenile in my opinion.

As someone who deeply dislikes the spread of generative AI/LLMs...I don't blame you at all for wanting to keep your livelihood. Job hunting isn't easy and being disabled is hard. At least you're thinking about this stuff and trying to make a positive impact at work, unlike the ones who cheerfully use the tech to scam people, spread fake news, etc.

every time I see an article about how students are using AI in classrooms I think about Neocities and it takes my entire body to stop me from going NU UH NOT ALL STUDENTS
