i keep meaning to get into the tutorial thing, but my ancient, broken brain keeps kicking me back down with imposter syndrome. i read the reddit a lot and think we need way more "how would i achieve this?" type walk-throughs. not necessarily complete solutions, but start-with-this-and-take-it-here sort of guides. (love your stuff, appreciate all your hard work!)

I think a quick guide for making websites responsive would be huge! It wouldn't be a one solution fits all type of tutorial, but even starting from somewhere would help many.

++ to aglovale, especially common indie-web accessibility stuff like "click here to change my absurd sparklepunk aesthetic into something easier on the eyes" or "this image is blurred unless you hover over it" would be really interesting and useful I think.

Maybe one or two ways for how to let visitors know that they visited your site? I (think?) I understand that the site traffic stats on the neocities profile aren't super useful because most of the hits and visits are not actual people (I mean I just don't believe that my tiny website - that is not advertised anywhere except on your site in the supporter section - gets 50 actual living people looking at it every day)

I tried making a button that is just "log visit" and my idea was that anyone can click it whenever they visit the site and it would update a visible counter, but I couldn't get it to work and I think that was because I'm limited by the free neocities tier? Also, if you or anyone in the comments know this: How reliable are these external visitor counter tools? Do they just visualise the same data my profile has?

@crota-gurdy i think hit counter widgets that don't use the neocities stats are a bit more reliable, but they usually count page hits, not unique visitors. (so one user viewing 10 of your pages counts as 10 hits)

@petrapixel Thanks, I really wasn't sure how the external hit-counters worked differently (or not) than the neocities stats. I also saw the FC2 Clap, but that's also not quite what I'm looking for, because one person can only clap once. But it would be very cool to basically let the webmastress know that you've checked out the site whenever you actually do and not just once, you know?
