sounds like theyre projecting their fears for what couldve happened to them if they pursued working in the arts instead of going into STEM <_< like yeah believe it or not but even though it may be tough to get a job in the arts it can happen and people do like art. and you even get paid for it too

That's because there's this belief amongst supposedly smart people that the arts are for those who can't cut it in science and maths. That's the reason why most of my life is a disaster and why I've once tried to kill myself. Now that AI is a real threat to the STEM people I can't help but laugh

i think it's because there is this narrative that art is a hobby and a privilege only (at least in my country, can't speak for others). i don't necessarily think my stem friends i'm referring to are actually spiteful of artistic careers, they have just been raised to believe it's not a real option and meeting someone with a career in an art is a glimpse into an alternate reality

i'll never forget my old roommate who was majoring in data science and hated it, but looooved art history. when i asked her why she didn't drop data science and pursue art history she was incredulous, "you can't make money in art history." made me so sad. the saddest part is that she's not wrong for feeling that way because that is the culture we are raised in, and i am very lucky to get to pursue my passion

As someone in STEM I'm also a theater nerd. If I can go to a live show, I'M GOING! Nothing but respect to everyone and all of their hard work.

they just implemented html editing there right, maybe if i miraculously find myself with ample free time on my hands i can code people oc pages
i miss my stylesheets css i will never take you for granted ever again
godspeed you got this!! i got very excited about the html editing but then actually tried and it was annoying as hell and i couldnt get things to work on mobile without bootstrap so i just gave up and used a template
Yeah I found it pretty limiting on what they allow (at least from the perspective of someone who isn't paying to support). I wanted to do iframe on my character profiles to just have their pages on my website show up in the description but apparently they're not allowing that. Which I get but other than like the standard text commands there really isn't much to play with.
