it doesn't work. individuals try to use it to protect their media from profit-seekers. meanwhile, companies and corporations use it to claim intellectual sovereignty over all media that will ever be created, thereby undermining any benefits it might have for the individual.

its never meant to protect individual works since its inception, and independent artists have everything to gain if its abolished

Should be abolished. 9/10 out of ten, its used by big companies to hurt the little guy, not the other way around. Think, nintendo and mario 63 or disney and fanart.

All of you forget that copyright is supposed to give creators control over the distribution of their work. Abolishing it would just make it legal for others to profit off of your work or even use it in extremist campaigns, without you being able to do a single thing about it. And the big corpos? They'll just start stealing the work from small creators in broad daylight. Abolishing copyright will not shift the dynamic

Mind you that I'm not excusing the mess copyright law is right now. It's horridly in favor of big corpos and should be revised drastically. But complete abolishment? In that case, you can completely forget any chance of legally protecting your work from AI as well

With that said, is it any wonder that so many pro-AI folks believe AI will cause the death of copyright and are hoping, even cheering for it?

I may or may not have deleted 243 files on accident and I had to reupload them. This is why you do backups, people!

Honestly though it's the framerate that is my demise on Flesh Prison, it goes to single digits once it starts healing and has all the other shit on the screen. Minos on the other hand respects my frames in spite of him only being on my screen 10% of the time. Maxor wasn't kidding when he said Minos is the first boss to exist entirely within your peripheral vision
I did ask them about that on their neocities page and they promptly blocked me. I already mailed the webring master about it. https://yorniq.xyz/site/hypercrites if you want to block
even some people in the no-ai webring have used genAI to make bits of their neocities sites. i blocked someone like that a couple years back. at this stage i think the no-ai webring is more of a follower attractant than a statement of personal principles.
the webring always felt that way to me, it's why i don't like joining huge webrings like that
