One important point of nuance to add to this journal entry, it's not *efficiency*, it's *productivity*. Quantity over quality. AI can shit out as much code as you want, but if it's unmaintainable, runs suboptimally and just becomes a massive source of technical debt, then that is far from efficient. Idk what it's like where you live, but using AI isn't mandatory at my job yet, so I just don't use it when coding.

Btw if you're catholic you may be able to argue religious belief as a reason for not using AI, which legally protects you from job-related discrimination, given Pope Leo's stance on it https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/encyclicals/documents/20260515-magnifica-humanitas.html
