Thanks. I wish I could say I had as much time to do page updates as I did when I started this. The time will come again, I'm sure. I'm glad you like the design. I sometimes feel like its rare for anything visually simple to be appreciated on neocities so it's nice to hear.
No problem! It's so cool to find someone else who is also interested in ancient Germanic culture, your library page (the Edda especially) has been very useful!
Been a while since I posted an update. Having a job changes things up. I wish I had got a special background and color for the prayer section but maybe I'll add that later.
I eventually want to extend my dictionary client to give English definitions of Latin words. Not sure when I'll get time to do that but it will get real nerdy when I do.
It's Interesting that Bede describes his own times, in the 720s or so as "the apathy of our times" in contrast to devout monastic traditions from 630s. It seems like no matter how far back you go, someone is longing for the recent past and thinking, "What degenerate times we live in now." | https://othala.goeshard.org/library/bede/iii/chapter-5/
Snorri tries to reconcile his ancestor's paganism with his own Christianity: https://othala.goeshard.org/library/edda/prose/prologue/in-the-beginning | A common thing with Snorri is that he wants to unify threads that don't necessarily line up which makes him very unreliable at times. Still interesting.
