I have one under draggianuniverse as a just in case, but don't like Neko's editor, cutesy aesthetic (I prefer websites that feel like they're taking me seriously), or file system layout. I guess if you use WebDAV, that's avoidable, though.

if I were gonna move, it would be if Neocities itself changed unacceptably as a platform or if I moved to a "real" web host with a custom domain. Haven't done that yet because domains are expensive. (plus Nekoweb gives less space.)

might copy my changelog to nekoweb just for you though. I don't want to maintain 2 copies of the site and don't see a good reason to move yet, but that way followers who leave can see what I'm up to

like I guess his opinions aren't *terrible*, he's buying into the self-driving AI bandwagon and a lot of his opinions boil down to "we should just embrace AI!!!", and he doesn't really say anything about generative AI shit like MidJourney? like he mainly talks about research and self driving cars

and also he's on the "chatgpt isn't *that* bad for the environment guys!!" bandwagon, sourcing a Substack article that seems a little... meh

honestly may end up moving to Nekoweb anyways because Neocities' WebDAV is *garbage*

I too am aware of that, but hate Nekoweb's editor and cutesy gimmick. Ran into Mr. Drake's blog post last year, assuming the one from 2023 is what you meant? (https://draggianuniverse.yorniq.xyz/miscellanea/generativealgorithms) I don't use socials but AFAIK there isn't much from after 2023?

I guess if I just use WebDAV, I can avoid Nekoweb's stupid layout, but seeing as there has been thus far no overlap between Neocities and Mr. Drake's nonsense that I know of, I find a hard time being pressed to care. I'm allergic to "discourse".

he's posted some shit on bluesky, I don't think Neocities blocks genAI crawlers by default like Nekoweb does (in theory I'm blocking them by robots.txt)

i have my robots.txt set to block literally everything. i don't care about search engine numbers so I just block *.

did this because some people prefer the Stereo Tool 9 UI over the new one, and Stereo Tool 10 preset won't import properly in older versions
From what I see, FTP is a "donator feature".
