idk if it earns the name cause globally and functionally nothing changed. but it feels like another case of shufflign things up for the reason of just shuffling things up. highly unnecessary. my main beef is golden comment boxes (as if they are highlighted) and file browser no longer zebras the list view so it's harder to read it, cause these two are actually functionally hindering the experience, though not by much

i think it looks kinda cute!, altho i hope these changes stay superficial like joan rivers cheek surgeries but dont ultimately lead to death like joan rivers neck surgeries

Honestly I like the new design. But I agree with astrossoundhell about the missing zebras on the list view of the file browser.

anyway, i'm currently watching a plane taxi to leave chicago-o'hare for san francisco on a flight tracker site, being very glad i dont have to use chatbot-powered name brand firefox for that anymore.

yes sometimes wordpad is annoying, like if you don't change fonts to 13pt Fira Sans it discards all your font hinting and squashes the last 5 words together to fit on one line. but ive been using wordpad since 2011 and ive learnt all the workarounds and work-withs.

that's interesting because i was just about to come on here and say "and that wordpad workalike is called abiword" but you beat me to it lol

Funnily enough I never liked WordPad. Like, or I need a pure text editor (Notepad) or I want a full blown office suite (LibreOffice). However, searching here for alternatives, I've found Ted. It seems to not be mantained anymore, and its dependencies may not be available in the newest distributions. Maybe it would work without hassle packaging into a Flatpak: https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/editors/ted/

sometimes linux users really need to consider what they use might not be what other people want to use, but i hope you found a better alternative! (i just use Kate, but thats more so a pure text editor)
