this is the best website i have ever seen. have you ever considered making a book of these experiments at some point ?

Yes! My website is sort of a work-in-progress, but once I've finished refining the various formulas/devices/methods/etc. that I've developed here (or will develop shortly), I intend to write a series of books on them. Probably within the next five years or so; it's a long-term goal.

Made some modifications to shellac to improve its brushing qualities. The resulting varnish is very versatile and easy to make, and I'd honestly recommend trying it out if you do any sort of woodworking.

Significant improvements to my various oil-based coatings, including a fast-drying tung oil varnish and the possibility of using it to make light-colored enamel paints.

Turning blueprints into a creative process led to some minor improvements to earlier materials and methods. The camera is fun too, of course.

Low-tech solar power! Not very efficient, but very interesting.

Your project seems to have some parallels with this forgotten solar panel : https://solar.lowtechmagazine.com/2021/10/how-to-build-a-low-tech-solar-panel/

That article is actually where I started my research! Unfortunately it seems that George Cove exaggerated many of his claims about his panels, including their efficiency. For example, I was unable to observe any photovoltaic effect in zinc antimonide, contrary to what the article claims. Furthermore, the number of junctions in his panels is what you'd expect from a purely thermoelectric device. Pretty disappointing.
