why do bed frames exist
i get why you'd have a frame in cases like hospitals where you need to easily move beds around; or if it's a bunk bed and there needs to be support for the top bed(s)
heck, it makes sense for cribs too so that the baby doesn't fall
but in a normal, 1 layer bed in a typical house, why do you need it?

the mattress isn't going anywhere anyway it adds unnecessary height that could make falls worse (given the frame doesn't have a railing, which many frames don't) and it takes money and time to buy the frame and assemble it (respectively) that could be used somewhere else
