What's the general etiquette regarding buttons? Should I reach out to the webmasters if I'm adding them to my neighbors page?? I suppose not but ahhhh ; __ ;

You can link them without asking! People prefer if you don't hotlink typically so save the button to your website or an image host and before linking :-)

My 88x31 button is on my homepage, right above my site and life logs, as well as my links page! It's dark green with a bunch of fireflies flickering around a signpost that says Inkcaps on it!
