Introduction

Dear Reader,

My name is Joy. I’m a first-year transfer student here at the University of Central Florida currently enrolled in ENC 1101. I am a musician first and foremost, so I will draw heavy parallels to the composition process when covering the outcomes achieved through this course. Through curated artifacts, I’ll demonstrate how musical literacy, digital communication, and reluctant academic engagement intersect with the course outcomes. While my passion for writing will never match my love for composing, this portfolio reveals unexpected growth in rhetorical flexibility, critical analysis, and the power of reflection. Additionally, I wanted to take this opportunity to learn how to code my own website, so the design will be very bare but will be further refined as I learn more techniques throughout my major.
