The schedule
Every Tuesday evening. Bring whatever you row or whatever you sail (or paddle). The pace is slow. The bar for “ready” is “mostly floating and pointed the right way.” Most voyagers will likely depart between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
The objective
The last one to Fantasy Island wins. Define “last” with kindness and a spyglass. To count, your arrival has to fall on Tuesday, local time, no later than 11:59 p.m. Tradition dictates that winning is discouraged.
The ramps
Geography permits several honorable approaches. A reasonable default is the Davis Island boat ramp. Others may prefer:
- William’s Park boat ramp
- Somewhere in Apollo Beach
- Isla Mujeres, Mexico — Use this option to bridge Tuesdays together for an extended experience.
Coordinate with whoever’s coming that week. No ramp pick makes you more virtuous; some just involve less parking drama.
Loitering & stowaways
No vessel of your own? That is statistically normal. The ramp is not the only door. Loitering around the ramp, offering snacks or a cold drink, and promising not to make anyone prove they've done a receent MOB drill may prove you have what it takes. If someone has room and you have sense, you may find a ride.
Stowing away is not endorsed or rewarded, but if you happen to discover yourself already aboard, and do not recall being invited, it may be prudent to make haste with an offering to the skipper.
Raid Fantasy does not assign boats, broker crews, or guarantee bilge access. All human logistics are DIY with consent and good humor.
