Hello! As someone with autism/ADHD/anxiety who recently started using Obsidian, seeing your blog post on the topic was really inspiring! I don't think I'm quite at the point you've gotten to yet, but now I feel more certain that I can get there, so thank you.

New drawing is of a member of the species known as the primers (Antiquus numerus). Life on the primer homeworld evolved in a subsurface ocean of hydrogen - in the transition zone from liquid hydrogen to metallic hydrogen - and is made from nitrogen–ammonia crystals.

Living near absolute zero, life on the primer homeworld is extremely slow compared to life on Earth. Primers think, speak, act, move, etc. roughly 12,000 times slower than human beings. Their species first emerged three billion years ago, and yet as of 5334 AD they are roughly equal to humans in technological development.

for some reason the preview sometimes shows the new drawing and sometimes doesn't so for clarification the new drawing is the purple creature at the top of the page

New drawing is of a member of the species known as the spacers (Homo levis). The average spacer is 6'3 (190.5 cm) tall.

While there are many exceptions, spacer cultures often place emphasis on the spacers' supposed "superiority" over the other human species. Other species are quick to remind the spacers that they can't even set foot on a planet without collapsing under its gravity.

honestly i might have to move spacers to a different genus than Homo (still considered a human species though) cuz this fellow diverged more and more as i drew them

Goblins have bodies built for living on hot, humid worlds, often residing in environments such as swamps and jungles. They are known for their incredibly wrinkly skin, an adaptation intended to increase their skin's surface area, allowing them to shed heat faster.

New drawing is of a member of the species known as the ælfes (Homo meliae). The average ælf is 6'11.5 (212 cm) tall, though a good portion of this extra height comes from their long heads (ælfes would still be tall without the long heads though).

newarcade's avatar newarcade 3 months ago

Ælfes are most widely known for their elongated heads and double-decker skulls, where the upper compartment is filled with fat until the ælf comes of age, after which the fat is scooped out and replaced with a computer wired into the brain, which in addition to the neural implants common to all human species makes ælfes incredibly intelligent.

holy shit im near the top of page 2 of special sauce!

His shirt says "ðesa mato ðasa gada est gada en ðesa ŝingŝio", meaning "best parent in the galaxy" (his kids gave it to him for parent's day) (he's a single father) (cyclops' heads are too wide to fit through the birth canal, so they're all grown in artificial wombs, and as such it's common for cyclopses to be raised by single parents).

New drawing is of a member of the species known as the "large‐ones" (Homo orcneas), specifically of the Orc race (as opposed to the much larger Ogre race). The average Orc is 9'4 (284.5 cm) tall. I also added two drawings of penguins that I made for my best friend for christmas.

Their shirt says "desebenso ef étadšmeto", meaning "attachment disturbance", which is the name of a band that was quite popular back in the 5310s.
