yours truly

Welcome to my blog!

So what's my deal, you ask?

I had an ugly codependent friendship breakup this year and I've been dealing with doomscrolling addiction and being fired and just generally being lonely and in the lowest point of my life. I found Neocities and figured it was a good place to heal my brain, reflect on what my life really is and foster some good karma in the world. Not for money. Not for a follower count on tiktok or any social media. I'm just here. For now, I just plan on blogging about random anime or game stuff that interests me and I might share some of my art if I'm not shy. I also have drawn a one-shot manga that I would like to share sometime. I have a pixiv but I'm hesitant to link it here. It feels kinda nice to keep this website an isolated little garden. My café, if you will.

things I'll probably blog about:

  • anime talk
  • nerding out about music
  • Some game or TV show I'm currently obsessed with, probably
  • Shit in my life that either fascinates me or pisses me off

Hmmmm

I think the visuals on my website are still missing a homey feeling that I wanted to have. Somehow it feels off.

I'll figure out how to solve it eventually. Hey I got blinkies now, that helps a little, right?

Breaking News

Coding is hard as balls, it turns out. It's gonna take a little longer than expected to start posting stuff until I figure this shit out. Sorry.

In the meantime, here's a Cecilia Immergreen x Gigi Murin picture I drew.

Borderline Internet.

I mentioned in my introduction about my internet addiction and I wanted to talk about it a little bit. After all, this is posted on the internet, aren't I a hypocrite?

Well... I thought about hard quitting the internet... I thought about cold turkey... I gave it a try for about 10 days, didn't touch social media or the net at all. But the loneliness I felt... the empty... was too terrifying for me, and there's just... Too much I care about. I decided that wasn't the way.

Instead, I came up with a paradigm shift. I vowed to spend my time doing as much shit that I love as possible. I'm not talking about hedonism, not talking about drowning in cigarettes and gyoza instead. I'm talking about creative marathons. Something challenging. That I can do one little day at a time. To fulfill my soul, not with one meaningless reddit notification at a time telling me to eat dick for saying I don't like superhero shows, or with mentally ill obsessive relationships with some person on discord that I don't even know their face.

So what did I do? I joined the Toxic Yuri Jam! By coincidence there was a very fitting theme for me starting up and I am now coding my first visual novel ever. I'm a decent enough artist to draw my own assets, or so I would like to believe. And... I also started on Neocities! This blog is my baby. I hope a soul reads it, if they don't, it doesn't matter. I don't need attention anymore. I've been walking my dog and painting walls that needed painting. Life is in front of me.

- Love, Haru.
