Treatment/Recovery
Addiction support group (WORLDWIDE)
Narcotics Anonymous is an alternative to Alcoholics Anonymous, the former focusing on all addiction. I personally consider NA to be better than AA, even for alcoholics. NA is a 12 step program that aims to help people who use drugs and wish to recover/become sober have community and support. Some meetings are open to people who use drugs and people who are just interested, whereas some are just for members/people who use drugs. You do not need to be sober to attend, just the desire to stop using. They don't discriminate or judge based on addiction, anyone is welcome. These meetings are 100% confidential and 100% free. They are available online or in person. There is a meeting locator on their website that includes both virtual and in person meetings. Some people may be put off on their focus of a "high power", which in NA is purely spritiual, but may be uncomfortable for some. There is more information on their website, which explains the meetings and culture more indepth.
24/7 virtual NA meeting (WORLDWIDE)
Zoom meeting for NA hosted 24/7. Anyone may join at any time.
Addiction support group (WORLDWIDE)
Smart Recovery can serve as an alternative to Narcotics Anonymous. Smart Recovery uses a psychology based approach to addiction recovery, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). Their focus is on addictions of any form, ranging from substances to behavioral issues. These meetings are more private than NA meetings, however. They are held virtual and in person. Please note that due to NA being more common than Smart Recovery, there may not be a in person meeting in your area. Similar to NA, these meetings are confidential and free.
